On June 3-4, 2022, the National University of Uzbekistan named after Mirzo Ulugbek hosted an international scientific and practical conference on the topic “Hydrometeorological research in the context of climate change: current problems and ways to solve them”, organized as part of the 70th anniversary of Professor F. Hikmatov.
The conference was held by the National University of Uzbekistan named after Mirzo Ulugbek in cooperation with the Center for Hydrometeorological Service of the Republic of Uzbekistan and the Geographic Society of Uzbekistan. Well-known scientists from 10 prestigious research institutes and universities from the republics of Russia, Germany, Belarus, Kazakhstan, and Tajikistan took partin the conference with their lectures.
Climate change, meteorology, agrometeorology, climatology, land hydrology, water resources and their protection, the creation of hydrometeorological threats and their early warning systems, the impact of global climate change on natural and geographical processes and its economic and socio-geographical consequences, the use of modern GIS technologies in hydrometeorological studies, as well as issues such as the coverage of climate change in the educational literature of higher educational institutions.
