In particular, the first expedition was organized in the Tashkent region. Members of the Working Group N.T.Shamuratova, R.A.Ibragimova, K.A.Krakhmal, A.Yarkulov, B.Egamov and a number of specialists in September 2019 on the territory of Bostanlyk, Akhangaran districts and the city of Angren studied and collected information about holy places and mausoleums, such as: the place of Kulbulok (the city of Angren), the mausoleum of Shoabdumalik ota, Sardoba (Akhangaran), the mausoleum of Shaikh Umar Valiy Bogistoniy, the Petroglyphs of Khojikent, the holy place Chinor, the mausoleum of Kadamchi Buva, Avliyosoy-Ikrima ota and the Obirakhmat cave (Bostanlyk).
A significant milestone in the creative collaboration of the Geographical Society of Uzbekistan and the Russian Geographical Society was the expedition of the Penza regional branch of the Russian Geographical Society “Modern Ethnoworld” in October 2018, the purpose of which was to study the life and culture of the Russian and Russian-speaking population of Uzbekistan. Representatives of the Geographical Society of Uzbekistan took a direct part in the work of the expedition in the study of target objects in Tashkent, Samarkand and Bukhara.
In May 2018, a group of Kazakhstani researchers organized a major international expedition to the Aral Sea as part of a special project of the Kazakhstan National Geographic Society, visiting the most important centers of historical and cultural tourism in Uzbekistan - Samarkand, Bukhara and Khiva.
At the present stage, in order to activate the activities and successful development of the Geographic Society of Uzbekistan, it seems expedient to intensify international contacts with the Geographical Societies of other countries for the joint holding of scientific and practical forums, expeditionary research, the publication of thematic collections of articles, the exchange of publications and scientific information.
