About the Geographic society
The Geographic Society of Uzbekistan regularly organizes and conducts scientific and practical conferences and seminars of republican and international status together with universities and specialized research organizations,.
One of the main activities of the Society is the disclosure and support of the scientific potential of the republic, and the implementation of research activities.
For example, for the period from 2010 to 2021, Uzbekistan held more than 30 national scientific conferences and seminars on topical issues of geographical science and education. In addition to metropolitan universities and research institutions, republican scientific and practical conferences are regularly held at the base of Samarkand, Karakalpak, Urgench, Andijan, Namangan, Fergana universities.
SCIENTIFIC JOURNALS «INFORMATION OF THE GEOGRAPHIC SOCIETY OF UZBEKISTAN»
More than 58 volumes of a scientific journal edited in 1955-2021 have been published.
INTERNATIONAL RELATIONS OF THE GEOGRAPHIC SOCIETY OF UZBEKISTAN
In its activities, the Geographic Society of Uzbekistan pays great attention to the development of scientific and practical cooperation with scientists-geographers of foreign countries. The closest and most multilateral ties have been established with the geographers of the Russian Federation and Turkey.

HISTORY OF the GEOGRAPHIC SOCIETY OF UZBEKISTAN
The Society is one of the oldest scientific societies of the republic and, perhaps, the only one of them, whose activity has not been interrupted since its foundation, namely, 1897 to the present. The history originates from the founding of the Turkestan department of the Imperial Russian Geographical Society (IRGO) in Tashkent on March 12, 1897, exceeding, thereby, 120 years.

Deeply saddened to learn about the fatal consequences of heavy rains in China and Brazil that took the lives of dozens of people.
on December 5-6 this year, the Geographical Council of Turkic States together with the Organization of Turkic States and the University of Journalism and Mass Communications of Uzbekistan held an international conference on "The Role of Turkestan in the History of Turkic Peoples" under the motto of Imam Al-Bukhari "There is no salvation but science".
