A memorandum of cooperation was signed between the Geographic Society of Uzbekistan and the Geographical Society of Tajikistan 13.10.2022 00:00

On October 12, 2022, a memorandum of cooperation between the Geographic Society of Uzbekistan and the Geographical Society of Tajikistan was signed in the city of Dushanbe of the Republic of Tajikistan. The memorandum was signed by the chairman of the Geographic Society of Uzbekistan Oybek Norinbayev and the chairman of the Geographical Society of Tajikistan Kholnazar Mukhabbatov.

The parties, having signed the memorandum, agreed on the following issues aimed at the implementation of joint research and publishing activities in the field of geographical sciences, the exchange of experience and information, the development of the exchange of teachers and students of higher educational institutions:

1. Organization and participation in joint scientific and practical conferences;

2. Implementation of joint research and publishing activities;

3. Exchange of research results, experience and information;

4. Publication of articles in scientific journals of the parties;

5. Exchange of scientific and educational literature;

6. Coordination of scientific approaches in the creation of geographical maps;

7. Carrying out short-term expeditions and other scientific programs.

Also on the topic of topical issues for both countries and the countries of Central Asia, it is planned to implement joint scientific and practical projects, hold conferences, create an explanatory dictionary of geographical objects and terms.

The issues of cooperation on the defense of dissertations prepared for obtaining the academic degrees of candidate (Phd) and doctor of science (DSc) by geographers of Tajikistan in scientific councils that award academic degrees in Uzbekistan, as well as on the scientific supervision of dissertation research, were agreed.

During the trip, Tajik State Pedagogical University named after S.Aini and Khojand State University named after B. Gafurov were visited, and it was also agreed to assist professors and teachers in advanced training and conducting field practices at the National University of Uzbekistan named after Mirzo Ulugbek.
